About
The RCE Nizhny Novgorod mission is to provide assistance in structuring a regional system of expert communications for implementing the tasks declared by the UN and UNESCO in the field of education for sustainable development.
The core participants to the project are the Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), NGO "Social Rehabilitation", NGO "Nizhny Novgorod centre of socio-economical expertise", Secondary school # 47.
The RCE NN’s first priority projects portfolio includes three projects and active partnerships of the participants in them: - Nizhny Novgorod Youth Program, - Nizhny Novgorod Reintegration Program - Nizhny Novgorod Metropolitan Planning.
The Nizhny Novgorod region (province) is located almost directly in the centre of the European part of the Russian Federation, on the East-European or Russian plain. It covers the territory of 76.6 thousand square kilometers with the population of 3411.0 thousand people that constitutes 2.4 per cent of the total population of Russia. Sustainable development webinar
On February 4, 2021, a webinar “Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals: Action through Learning during the Global Crisis” was held at the Regional Center of Excellence at the University of Edinburgh (Scotland). The discussion showed that the audience was unanimous: the goals of sustainable development are achieved through collective exchange, translation of our knowledge, skills and values into tangible, real activities.
RCE Nizhny Novgorod participated in the 12th Global RCE Conference ‘Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals: action through learning in a time of global crises’, 16-18 November 2021, Scotland.
